Things to be aware of......

We understand how important it is for parents/carers to feel confident about the suitability and safety of the activity they are sending their child to.  We have compiled a list of things you should expect to see:

  • The activity session and participants are being safely supervised, with good ratio between staff and children
  • The activity organisers allow you to visit the activity session before you sign up and will encourage you to stay and watch or become involved
  • The activity session is being delivered by staff that have the relevant qualifications and training
  • The activity organisers and the staff allow time for you to raise any concerns or ask any questions
  • All staff working with children or vulnerable adults have criminal records checks (known as a CRB) to check their suitability
  • The activity organisers interview and obtain references for all members of staff
  • The activity session organisers will ask your permission if they are intending to take your child on outside visits, activities or trips
  • There will access to a qualified first aider at the activity session
  • Sessions organisers will be fully insured to deliver the activity session
  • Sessions will take place in suitable and safe places
