Come along and see the Road Show

As part of our strategy leading up to the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, Leisure Services are using the specially designed Challenge Swindon Legacy Roadshow trailer to promote health and fitness opportunities that are provided by both public and private sector partners, offering incentives to the community to be 'more active, more often'.
The roadshow will be at various locations across the town, visiting shopping centres, schools, colleges, local companies and other places of interest. We will also use established events and programmes as a platform to promote our vision. The main thrust of the Legacy project is marketing, branding and campaigning for a greater awareness of the benefits of physical activity.

The overall rationale of the project is to respond to the national target of increasing participation in physical activity 1% year on year. Swindon has a wealth of opportunities and is successful in getting people active once or twice a week, however our new challenge is to get the residents of Swindon partaking in physical activity for a minimum of three times per week.
