Extra Time Project for Over 60

Swindon Town Football in the Community recently received funding from The Football Foundation in partnership with Comic Relief to set up the Extra Time Project. The project is to engage older people in exercise and community social inclusion projects. It recognises that exercise can improve the physical, mental and social opportunities for older people as well as addressing the social exclusion and isolation issues faced by this group of people.

This project runs twice a week, men’s sessions on Tuesday’s and Ladies on Wednesday mornings from 10am – Midday. Both sessions are aimed at people of retirement age who have an interest in staying healthy and who would like to meet new people and socialise.

All activities will be run by qualified coaches in the sport and activities range from golf and indoor bowls to archery and rowing.
