Girls Football

girls playing football

We have now over 130 girls playing every week feeding into local clubs and the Wiltshire Centre of Excellence. We run our own Girl’s Festival with over 90 girls taking part in 12 teams. The girls programme is helping to raise the profile of the girls game in Swindon and has been set up to target participants from 5-16 years.

The Girls Development Centres:

  • Stratton (6-12 years)
  • Stratton (7-11 years)
  • Haydon Wick (years 3, 4, 5, 6)
  • Haydonleigh (years 3, 4, 5, 6)
  • St Catherines (years 3, 4, 5, 6)
  • St Sampsons (years 3, 4, 5, 6)
  • Orchard Vale (years 3, 4, 5, 6)
  • Red Oaks (years 3, 4, 5, 6)
  • St Francis (years 3, 4, 5, 6)
  • Commonweal (years 7 & 8)
  • Warneford (years 7 & 8)

The project is an exclusive opportunity for young female footballers to develop their football techniques and skills with the girls being able to engage and practice them in a game situation. This programme offers opportunities of pathways to excellence after the age of 12 years, with the girls who display levels of talent and ability being given the chance to progress to County or local club level.
