Twilight Football

Twilight Football is a positive diversionary activity which gives young people, aged 13 – 17, the opportunity to participate in late-night football sessions, to keep them off the streets and help prevent anti-social behaviour and the threat of becoming engaged in anti-social activities.

We have a strong coaching team who are all very experienced in working with young people and who deliver the sessions in a professional way and in a safe environment.

They also have great rapport with the young people which encourages helps to keep their attendance up. We encourage participation in local leagues and competitions and have started our own Twilight Football League.

But Twilight doesn’t just offer playing opportunities, it also encourages participants to become involved in coaching, refereeing courses, young leadership awards and college courses which all help with personal development. Since the project started in 2006 many young people have gained Level 1 Coaching Certificates and delivered football festivals of fun for local schools.

We currently deliver four weekly sessions:

  • Monday: Youth First Centre Sports Hall, 7.30 – 9.30pm
  • Thursday: Dorcan Recreation Complex, 8.00 – 9.00pm
  • Friday: Link Centre, 6.30 – 8.30pm
  • Friday: Oasis Leisure Centre, 7.30 – 9.30pm
  • Friday: The Circle, Pinehurst (floodlit) 8.00 - 9.00pm

If you know a young person that you think would benefit from being involved in Twilight Football or you would like more information on the scheme, contact Tim Hall on (01793) 421303 or email Tim at tim@stfc-fitc.co.uk
