Health Walks

Health Walks enable each walker to complete one of the 5 X 30-minutes per week of physical activity that are recommended by the government to improve health and lower risks of many diseases.
There are now 6 weekly health walks on:
| Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Penhill 9:30am Shaw 3:15pm |
Broadgreen 10.00am | Walcot 10.00am |
Eldene 2.30pm | Liden 10.30am |
and 4 Wheelie Walks for parents and pushchairs and wheelchair users on:
| Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Friday |
|---|---|---|---|
| Westcott 1.00pm |
Stratton 9.15am |
Ramleaze 9.30am | Eldene 10:30am |
All the walks are lead by volunteers who have attended one of several Volunteer Walk Leader training days.
Open to all ages, each person walking at a pace to suit them. We get lots of comments on the improvement walkers experience in terms of mobility (despite arthritic knees) a better sense of well-being, cutting down on medication and feeling livelier. There is always a chance to socialise with a cuppa at the end of the walk and many people have made new friends.
Occassionally we will have 'away days' where we walk from a different starting point so please contact Cheryl if confirmation of starting point is required.
Please email Cheryl Heyne or call her on 01793 511033 if you are interested in joining or becoming a walk leader.
