Community Mediation Service

Helping to Find Solutions to Disputes

If you have a dispute with a neighbour and can't resolve it, and you would like to attempt a non-legal and peaceful solution, the Community Mediation Service may be able to help.

The Community Mediation Service is a registered charity which aims to reduce or remove emotional conflict and to seek a mutually satisfied solution rather than contacting the police, legal advisers, housing department or association, or the local authority.

Types of Dispute

Typically the disputes are those that crop up between neighbours, such as:

  • Noise
  • Vehicle parking
  • Children and young people's behaviour
  • Gardens and fences
  • Circumstances where you feel that a neighbour has complained to you unfairly.
