Who are we?
A team of workers with specialist skills from:
- social workers
- Education Youth Service
We will:
- listen to you
- support you
- provide information
- respect confidentiality (unless there are issues of protection and/or serious crime)
Who do we support?
- Young people aged 16-21 who are or have been accommodated by the local authoritiy Social Services Department
- Young people aged 16-17 who cannot live at home and are assessed as being in need
- Young people from other countries who are separated from their families and seeking asylum
What do we do?
We offer advice and support on issues such as:
- accommodation
- all benefits
- careers
- training
- further/higher education
- health
- employment
- leisure activities
We also offer:
- group work in preparation for independence
- liaison with the voluntary sector
- a weekly drop in centre and group work for young people from other countries who are separated from their families
