How did we get started?
The Swindon Primary Mental Health Children's Service was established in 2004 in response to government lead initiatives, including "Every Child Matters", "Together we stand", and the National Service Framework. Collectively these initiatives were designed to improve and develop Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across the country.
What do we do?
This service aims to support primary care professionals within Health, Education, Social Care and the Voluntary Sector in their work with children and young people with mental health issues and their families.
By providing joint working, consultation, direct work with families and signposting to other services, we aim to link children and young people with the most appropriate professional at the most apporpriate time.
